Day One- Check-In
Good morning, girls! First day in the six week challenge! Welcome to Lisa, who's new this session :) And of course welcome back to all the returning challengers.
This morning, find time to weigh in and take starting measurements. Record this info in your My Fitness Pal profile online. Then start tracking your calories burned and your calories consumed. Let me know if you have any questions on figuring that all out. Also, if you haven't yet set your reward for hitting your goal (whatever that goal might be), please let me know so we can put it in your sidebar bio.
For the first post of the challenge, I love to hear the reasons why you all are attempting THIS particular six week challenge. What is your motivation?
Sometimes mapping out your week in a little schedule with meals, snacks, & workouts helps- it makes a world of difference for me, personally. What's your game plan for this week?
Make it a great day!

I am motivated this challenge becuase I always and I mean always, gain weight over the summer. So many bbqs, chips, hamburgers, brats, smores. My goal this challenge, and for the entire summer, is to enjoy the friends and the experience without consuming so much food. I will lose 10 pounds in the next six weeks. I am determined:)
ReplyDeleteI happy to say that this is the best check-in I've had in months!!! I didn't gain weight during the week off, I'm actually down 6 pounds. I do believe that a good chunk of that is water, but hey, it's gone!
ReplyDeleteI am participating in the challenge again because I love the positive motivation that we share here. I love being accountable for my progress; forward, back or stagnant.
I'm looking forward to an active week beginning Wednesday. My yoga personal revolution continues until the end of August. I'm behind on my classes (yes already). I can't believe in the change in my strength and flexibility since I started yoga again in January (Thanks Sarah!) I'm looking forward to seeing where I am at the end of August.
I'll be biking, swimming and more than likely running a bit this week. As far as meals, there will be lots of salads and veggies. Our CSA share started 2 weeks ago. It's our 3rd year with our CSA, and there are LOTS of veggies every week from now until the end of October.
Good luck to everyone this next 6 weeks!! I'm looking forward to reading about your progress, forward, back or stagnant :)
My goal for this challenge is maintenance. I need to find that middle ground where I can balance food intake and exercise to stay the same. If I lose a couple pounds that would be ok too. It's also ok if I gain a couple.
ReplyDeleteI want to keep on top of my running, which is my main form of exercise. I'm running my first half marathon Saturday and I plan to keep up the work for another in the fall.
I've joined this blog for this 6 weeks b/c it's helped me so much to get to my goal weight. I rely on the inspiration and support I find here.
I am back! I have been MIA the last little while and guess what? I have put on 10lbs. My goal this challenge is to lose those 10lbs to get back to my lowest and then on to conquer the last 10lbs to my ultimate goal!
ReplyDeleteMy game plan is to be accountable for what I put in my mouth. I am facing the excuses and going to kick their butts to the curb!!!!!We moved houses so my computer is no longer right next to my kitchen so I am going to use paper and pen through out the day and then log into MFP.
I am recommitting myself to this challenge because I feel soooooo much better when I am being healthy! I will be running my 3rd half marathon on Saturday and will be shooting for a PB on time. I know I will do better running if I put the right combination of foods into my body.
My goals are worth achieving. I am worth fighting for!!!
Glad to hear from you ladies! And wow, good work already, Amy C!
ReplyDeleteAbrey, I completely respect your honesty & admire your resolve to get back into rockin' it. I gained over my April-May move, too. I'm now slowly whittling my way back down & I'm 5.4 lbs away from my lightest. This challenge I want to lose that 5.4. I'm nursing a sore foot & not being able to run, so nutrition is going to be extra important to me this session. Game plan is to map out each week's workout & meal plan- I have big success when I do that & if I don't do it, I subject myself to my whims & cravings. Another thing I am going to try hard on is sleeping the right amount. Started last night by passing out at 7 pm on accident. Geesh! Haha, maybe not that extreme this session, but I'd be happy with bed by 10 each night. I'm a night owl, so this will be big for me.
Good luck to you all this challenge! I can't wait to hear from you!
Hello Ladies! I am back and excited to recommit myself! I have been really struggling trying to juggle a very busy church calling that we have been involved in over a year but that's just an excuse and I am really going to give it my all during this 6 week challenge! I have 15 lbs that I would like to lose but I'm not going to jinx myself and say how much I will lose in this challenge all I know is that I'm looking forward to having more energy and feeling healthy again! Thanks for all of your inspiring words, it really has motivated me to get back in the game! Good luck to you all!
ReplyDeleteMy goal this 6 weeks is to tone up. I feel so wonderful when I'm eating low sugar and working out consistently.
ReplyDeleteI've blocked out a schedule, like you suggested Sarah. I'm going back to morning workouts. Early to bed, early up, work out more often for less time. I'm excited to see if it feels as good as all these long runs I've been doing. I'll still keep running, too, but probably stay around 5 miles 2-3 times a week.
Woohoo! Let's go.
I stayed the same from the end of last time to now which makes me very very happy.
ReplyDeleteAlso! I bought my new bathing suite and dance shoes as a reward for losing 10 lbs for the first time and not just losing and gaining and losing and gaining. (Which was quite frustrating) So I am really happy to say I am proud of the changes I made and I plan on sticking with it.
I was also very excited to see friends of mine who I hadn't seen in months who were very impressed. The first thing they said was "did you lose weight?" And happily I was able to say why yes, yes I did.
My goal for the summer is to pack my lunches the ngiht before. I have to be up at on site with kids at 8 am, some days that means getting up at 6 to get up and out the door, and I am NOT a morning person so this is going to require a little prep on my part. But this way I know how many calories are in my lunch box and I can track it.
