Monday Morning Check-in
Hello, ladies! How was your check-in this morning? Let us know how much you're up or down, any changes in energy or how you feel. Can't wait to hear!
And the winner of the Crisco sculpture side challenge was Amy! Congrats, Amy! You win a pack of handwarmers and an iTunes giftcard to help with your winter running!
The new side challenge today to carry us through the next and final two weeks comes from Nicki. Inthe next day or two, come up with a schedule for meals, snacks, & workouts for the time period of 12/21-1/3. For those 14 days, plan out your effective strategy for beating the holiday hullabaloo. Email me your shedules in whatever format you want, as simple or as detailed as you want, then I'll post them all on here. Let's say by Wednesday morning? Does that sound ok? Then from all the girls who participate, we'll draw a name of a winner and that person will win Amy's Arbonne prize :) I know this will help us all!

I gained 0.4 lbs. But I am challenging my pathetic excuses from last week and I am going to lose that .4 and then some this week! Can't wait to hit the ground running w/ a new schedule!
ReplyDeleteI've not been eating as well as past weeks... Saturday morning I weighed myself and I was up 1 pound, BUT today I weighed and I'm actually down 2 pounds... let's chalk the variability up to nursing/milk supply. So I'll take the "down 2 pounds" version. I don't so much deserve that loss, but maybe the 500 extra calories I can eat while nursing saved me this week... I'm excited to make a schedule like Nicki suggested. That should really help.
ReplyDeleteWe're headed to my parents' this week, and they DO NOT eat healthfully at all. So, I'm taking along string cheese, sweet potatoes, healthy granola bars, apples, and natural peanut butter. I should be able to pull together a few healthy meals/snacks that way. Make is a GREAT GREAT week everyone!
And Sarah... don't sweat that small, small gain. Look how far you've come! It's really quite impressive we're all trying to lose weight at Christmas time!
ReplyDeleteJust remember: "Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music." (Nietsche). Keep dancing ladies! We can do it! Keep up the hard work!
I'm soooo happy this morning!!! I've finally reached my original 1st 10 in 6 goal! I lost 1.6 lbs. last week! Whoo-hoo!! I'm getting closer and closer to my final goal. Thanks for kicking my trash Saturday Abrey! I'm sure that helped :)
ReplyDeleteI think I've figured out that I have NO idea how my body is going to react each week. It's taken me 16 weeks to lose 10 lbs. I figure the slower it comes off, the easier it'll be to keep off, right?! I'm reminded of a quote I put on my vision board from the last 10 in 6 : "It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer." -Albert Einstein.
Thanks so much to all of you. Your uplifting words and support has contributed to my success more than you know.
Sarah, you are awesome!!! I feel so sorry for that poor .4 lb because it won't be staying with you for long. And great job Jen! I'd take that 2 lbs and run with it, nursing or not!
Make this holiday week FANTASTIC ladies! We will get our families out and get them moving and show them how we live our lives, eh? Merry Christmas everyone!!
I lost another 2 this week!! Woo Hoo!!! Unlike most, my life is not turned upside down during the holidays. Tim's parents go to California to be with the Grandkids, and my family celebrates Christmas eve. My work schedule doesn't change (much) so I get to keep my same routine. Don't get me wrong, I usually gain wait over the holidays just like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteMeghan, don't get down about the slow progress. I'm usually a very slow loser. I think my body has just gotten the message this challenge. I fully expect a slowdown a some point again. Keep at it, it will come!!
Thanks for the votes on the last challenge ladies! Your prize for the next challenge is waiting for you!!
Have a wonderful week everyone!!!
Way to go ladies!! It was great going running with everyone this weekend. Thanks for being willing to get out in the snow and cold! I lost the weight I had put on plus a little more!! So far this challenge I am down 6lbs so if I keep on track for the last two weeks I can still reach my goal of 10!!! After my off week I was afraid I had blown it but NO!! That was just a valley I had to climb out of. My schedule will not change with the holidays since we are staying home. Plus I am getting great muscle confusion work in with staining/priming/painting then moving furniture and lots of other fun around the house projects! I am all set for a fabulous week!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Such great energy and positivity radiating out of my computer screen to me right now! This being my first TenInSix, I am still being surprised daily with all of your diligence and support and positive attitudes. I am especially soaking up your good vibes today because I'm up a pound from last week. I refuse to fall into my good yo-yo skills so it's TIME! We used to say that towards the end of a soccer game when we were feeling our legs a bit. Someone would look around and say, "IT"S TIME!" And we'd all agree to each other that it's time! And that's all that needed to be said. The game can still be rocked. Right now is right now - the perfect time to jump forward.
ReplyDeleteSo, Sarah, I'm going to join you in rocking our new schedules and knocking that bit of extra weight to the curb this week - with some bonus pounds, too, right?
Jen - you are so amazing to be so focused with all the responsibilities and commitments you have every day that require so much energy! Good job to you miss drop weight every week without the all the sleep your body probably wants/needs!
Meghan - I am so happy for you! 16 weeks is not long to drop 10 pounds - it's amazing! And I totally think it's true - your body is adjusting to it's new weight and caloric needs continually so you won't yo-yo as you gradually work to lose the weight. That's what I'm counting on, too =).
Amy C - I feel like family already because your posts are so encouraging! Your hard work is so inspiring to me - not to mention your continual weight drop.
And Abrey! You are totally going to hit your goal! WOW! I'm so amazed. I'm coming on the next run!!!! Dave was at the hospital overnight friday night. And I love the idea of taking every opportunity to work our bodies - painting and moving furniture - sounds like a great workout!
