Monday Morning Check-In

Good morning and happy Monday, ladies!

Check-in and let us all know how much you're up or down on the scale
this morning. How are you feeling? What's your game plan for this
week? Don't forget to keep working on your healthy recipe gathering
this week :)

  1. I am down 0.4 pounds and very happy with that. Having our house listed for sale this week has been TOUGH - so stressful because it takes me 4 hours to get the house ready for a showing. Never sell a house with 5 kids! I went from not eating, to nervous nibbling.

Anyway, I'm happy to have lost anything.

My game plan: get back to the higher protein meals and more sleep. Both make me more emotionally stable and both help me reduce the nervous nibbling. Continue with my 15 minute walk each day and my yoga, which really calms me. I have learned one thing these past few months: my personal weight loss is STRONGLY LINKED to my mental health, state of relaxation, enough sleep, etc. If I don't have those things down, nothing else will work because I'll eat too much...

Make it GREAT this week! Hope you're enjoying that crusie Abrey!

  2. I'm down about 2 lbs. this week. 2 is an unusually high number for me. I was sick yesterday and lost a lot of fluids; that may account for a bit of my 2 lbs. Regardless, I'm stoked!! It also may just be that I worked extra hard this week! My goal was to break a sweat every day. I got 5 out of 7 with a long run (5.5 mi) in there. That's pretty good.

My goal for this week is to keep up the sweating and work on getting more fresh veggies in my diet. Make it a great week ladies!!

  3. Great job, Jen & Meghan! I hope you feel better soon, Meghan :( I am up 0.4 this week, but I'm ok with it- I deserve it after last night....oops! I'm just quivering right around the same weight zone, but it's the inches that are more important to me right now, and getting in a great burn every day is going to be my game plan. I am still battling a cold, but I had a fantastic weekend where I mounted a huge goal of mine- a 50K run (31 miles)- thanks to the inspiration of Valerie- who rocked it WAY ahead of me :) Good job, Valerie! Cold is getting better, no more muscle aches associated with it like I had last week, so that's good, and I'm hoping to jump on the bicyle a lot this week! Let's go get the next goal, Sarah! This week my plan is to cycle or jog Monday through Thursday and Saturday.

  4. I have lost another pound (1) this week, which I'm happy about. Sure . . . I'd be much *more* happy with a 2 pound loss, but I'll take the 1. Just to think that I'm down 10 pounds from a month ago (I lost 5 pounds my first week, which was a week before we started this 10 in 6 thing officially) is very encouraging. Like someone said earlier - even if I only lose 1 pound a week, I'll be down 50 pounds by next year. So here I am - a little turtle - steadily working toward my goal. I'm hoping to get to store and stock up on some fresh veggies like celery and cucumbers, but the snow day is working against me. By tomorrow, I should be able to head out for sure, even if I don't make it today.

Good luck to all you ladies as you head into this new week!

  6. I stepped on the scale this week (a more accurate scale finally) and I was shocked! I am down 3.7 pounds this week! I don't really have an explanation for it. I stayed under all my calorie goals and worked out 5 days last week just like the week before. My only guess is that I've been losing more weight all along, just couldn't tell from my inaccurate scale.

So I am down 6 and half pounds total and I am just giddy!

  7. I am down 2 lbs, which is great. I am going to focus on eating really good food this week, lots of fresh fruit and legumes. I find that creating a calorie defeceit is difficult. I do not feel good when I have a 500 calorie deficeit. I feel sluggish, have less mental energy, etc. I will just have to deal with this until I get all the extra weight off. My body (and probably the human body in general) does not like losing weight.

  8. I'm down one more pound this week for a total of 5lbs; I am surprised after yesterday's super bowl party. I am pretty consistent at one pound a week, which I can’t be mad at one pound is better than none. I am a little frustrated that I not seeing any bigger numbers, but I have a feel that once I am out of this “decade” on the scale I feel a ton better (only 4 more pounds). I managed to work out 4 days last week, but this week I need to step the intensity a little. For this week I want to turn half of my 30-45min walks into a jog.

  9. Nice going everyone! I so agree with Jen about the link with stress and weight loss! I gained 2 pounds this week, yikes!!! I was not so happy about that this morning! I've been in my new home a week and a half now, so with a majority of the "important" things unpacked, we're starting to get into a routine. I haven't really been focusing on this at all, so this week WILL be different! My plan is to drink all of the water I need daily, and either run or ride my bike 4 days this week. I will also track everything I eat on mfp. I'm going to have another talk with my husband about the snacks that keep appearing in the house that I have a really hard time ignoring. I have to remind him every once in awhile what I need in order to succeed. Have a great week everyone!

  10. Well I stayed the same, which I'm not complaining, well maybe a little ;) I was actually really excited to get on the scale this morning because I had such a good week last week! I stepped up my workouts and got 4 days in, I would have gotten 6 days but on Friday and Saturday I exercised my spiritual mind and went to Time Out For Women with a bunch of my friends! I tend to agree with Jen, exercising isn't all just about the physical side of it. Those couple of days really helped rejuvenate me and I feel ready to start a new week.

My game plan is to find more ways to calm my self and put myself in the right frame of mind since I get overwhelmed so easily, get more rest and have another good workout week and of course focus on eating healthy!

Great job ladies! I am so impressed by all your success, this really inspires me to keep going!

  11. I'm down 5 lbs total and feel great! I feel like the changes I'm making are gradual and the change in my body is slow but permanant. I started exercising 2-3 times a week about 4 months ago and changing my diet (a LITTLE at a time) with the start of this 10 in 6 challenge. I'm actually shocked that I am dropping weight--it makes me want to keep up the effort! :-)

  13. Good morning inspiren ("inspiring women" psharharhar!) I'm down 1.5 pounds which I can hardly believe! I guess morning workouts are good for me. Not that I work out any more, but that I get in a good frame of mind for the rest of the day when my morning routine is accomplished before kids get going, and I think the same principle Jenn and Nicki talked about is true for me: lower stress = easier for my body to work right. Problem is maintaining that morning routine - it's sooo hard for me to get to bed early enough to keep it up.

That's my plan for this week - sleep sleep sleep, vegis and fruit, and the morning routine.

Heidi, I want the same scale you got =). I guess it won't work for everyone the way it did you - GOOOD JOB! You rock!

Nicki - a couple pounds is NOTHIN! Getting through a move?!? It's completely amazing that you and Jen continue to watch what you eat and push your bodies ON TOP OF all the EXTRA-sapping work of a move.

  14. I stayed the same this week. Having my mom here is stressful and bad for food--she fixes yummy food that's bad for you. I'm okay with having stayed the same. This week will be better.

  15. I'm down 2 pounds this week. And I feel like this lifestyle is starting to click for me.

I'm resolving to challenge my excuses better this week like Sarah says. For me, it's easy to come up with excuses such as, "I've had a hard day, I deserve to eat this." But, that's not true, it's just an excuse to eat it. Or "My husband has been working long hours and isn't home much, so I can't find time to get to the gym" But, that's not true either. It's not his fault I don't go to the gym. I need to step up to the plate and be the one in control. I'm not going to let myself use excuses this week.

  16. Good afternoon ladies!!! I weighed on friday and was down .5 for a total of 2 for the challenge. Not great by I'll take it.

I been struggling with hip pain when I do anything since the relay a couple of weeks ago. I am so happy to say that it is finally gone!!!! I knew it hurt when I tried to run, and that I was uncomfortable with walking etc, but I didn't realize how much it was really hurting until now that it's gone.

I'm going with the break a sweat every day this week as my goal. I'm going on a girls quilting weekend Thursday- Sunday. There will be food and lots of sitting. I'm bringing my running shoes and warm clothes so I can get outside everyday. If the weather is yucky, we are staying at a huge old victorian in Mineral Pt, there are LOTS of stairs!!

  17. I'm down a pound luckily. However, it doesn't help that I have had a nasty upper resp. thing for the last 2 weeks and have been unable to exercise. I attempted to walk briskly on the treadmill lastnight and I thought I was going to die, but atleast I tried!
